The candidates for the Barpool by election have now been announced. In their number is one Alwyn Deacon, he of the nazi salutes outside his (former) pub when he was landlord. Deacon has already been rejected by the residents of Nuneaton on four occasions, lets make sure it is not fifth time lucky for Cantwyn!

I just wonder what her problem is?

I am recovering from seeing the EDL attempt to spread their racist violence and bigotry in Nuneaton. I stood as a steward to the counter demonstration and witnessed the mindless violence of - frankly - grown men who should know better. They visit our town, get drunk, march shouting obscenities, and generally insult anyone who stands up against them.
They will deny this. But I can only report what I saw with my own eyes.
I saw fireworks thrown at the NAFA demonstration.
I saw beer cans thrown by the EDL.
I saw bottles and bricks thrown by the EDL.
I saw fireworks thrown by the EDL, one of which landed within six feet of me.
I saw thunderflashes thrown at police horses.
I saw the EDL fighting with the police.
I saw the EDL intimidating peaceful protesters.
I saw all this with my own eyes. So I am incredulous that the EDL Blog tells outright lies about the events in Nuneaton. But I'm not surprised because I expect lies and hatred from the EDL.

I thought that the organisers of the anti EDL protest did a fantastic job in involving the local community. The vast majority of those present were from Nuneaton - more than can be said about the EDL who traveled from all over the country to spread their racist filth.
I hope we never see the EDL in Nuneaton again but they seem to be targeting our town for special treatment.

I also hope we never again have to see police from at least five forces on our streets at huge expense to the public purse.

BNP dump leaflets in Nuneaton

Following hot on the heels of election disaster, the BNP had to find a way of disposing of all their unused election propoganda.
So what did they do with all those leaflets they couldn't deliver? Well, it seems one tactic is to throw them on verges - maybe this is their attempt at recycling although I would call it littering.

These leaflets are pictured dumped near to the BNP offices in Nuneaton so you would think they are for the failed local candidate. Not a bit of it. These are for their candidate for Torfaen, in Wales, and I can only wonder how they made there way to our part of the world.

BNP seen off - EVERYWHERE!!!!

The BNP had a torid night on 6th May at the general election. The target seats they identified turned out to be a bridge too far as they fell well short of any serious challenge to enter Parliament. Nick Griffin was humiliated in Barking and Simon Darby could only manage 2,500 votes in Stoke on Trent Central. In effect, they came nowhere right across the country as voters chose the mainstream parties ahead of the BNP.

In the local elections they fared just as badly, losing 27 seats across the country. They lost all twelve seats on Barking and Dagenham council, two in Stoke on Trent and one in Solihull. In Nuneaton all twelve BNP candidates fell short of what they needed to get elected.

They also lost their seats in Redditch and Sandwell.

Thanks to all those anti fascists who put themselves out to come and help distribute thousands of newspapers in Kingswood, Barpool and Abbey wards - a truly fantastic effort!!

BNP Candidates in the Midlands

So far there appear to be 73 BNP candidates standing across the east and west midlands. Anti facist campaigners are pulling out all the stops to distribute Hope not hate leaflets and newspapers, including 15,000 which we are distributing in Nuneaton.

BNP stuffed in Ashfield and Telford by elections.

The BNP had a torrid night in the midlands, being badly beaten in by elections in Ashfield and Telford. Labour won the Hucknall Central seat in Ashfield from the Conservatives with an 11% swing. The BNP candidate was a defector from the Labour party and came firth out of five candidates polling a miserable 7.4% of the vote. Misjudged that one didn't he?

In Telford Nedge ward, the BNP got 103 votes, or 5.8% of the vote. The seat was won by the Conservatives.

I always find it somewhat sad when the BNP let slip what they are really about. I try and see the best in people, I really do. I even think most people who have been seduced into voting for the BNP would be horrified if they really understood what this vile party is really about.

Martyn Findley has clearly insulted someone providing a service, in this instance in a garage. He claims he is not racist.

He says he would have said this to anyone. Lets think what that means. He would swear at, or othwise insult ANY individual who is providing a service? Really?

Can we then expect him to treat council officers like this if the mood takes him?
We need to remember that our elected councillors should treat everyone in the same way, whether or not they voted for them. This kind of behavior - which he appears to have freely admitted - makes him unsuitable for the position of trust which he holds. He should resign and apologise publically.

And as for representing Nuneaton at Westminster, well really!

He just can't help himself.......

A BNP councillor will face a standards investigation after he described an Asian garage attendant as “f***ing filth” on an internet blog .
Nuneaton Coun Martyn Findley (Barpool) launched the attack because the Asian man was staring at his son who was wearing his army cadet uniform.

He posted: “How dare this piece of filth look at my son like that while he proudly wares (sic) his uniform?
“If he has a problem with British Army uniform there are plenty of places on gods (sic) earth that he will not see it. “He should move to one of them.”

The comments have led to Nuneaton and Bedworth’s longest serving councillor, Dennis Harvey (Lab, Camp Hill) to call for Coun Findley to resign.

The article, entitled “F***ing Filth” was published on Coun Findley’s personal blog and advertised on his Facebook page and Twitter feed.

Coun Findley strongly refuted any allegation that the blog post was racist – claiming anybody else would have got the same treatment.
“It’s just one of them. I was angry, but frankly I stand by it,” he said. “If you’ve heard the phrase looks could kill, then you will understand what I’m saying. I’m no extremist, or racist. I’m a proud parent.”

BNP to contest Nuneaton St Nicolas?

Residents in the County Council ward of Nuneaton St Nicolas came home yesterday to find BNP leaflets on their doorsteps. The BNP have never worked this part of Nuneaton before raising fears that they will be standing in the by election which will take place following the sad death of Conservative councilor David Brydon.

Have no doubt the Nuneaton and Bedworth Hope not hate will be on the streets to counter the lies and myths the BNP will inflict on residents. If they knock on your door you might want to ask them why they use American actors in their leaflet and have they really got permission from the "police officer" to use her photo?

We wait in anticipation to see if the BNP will field serial loser Cantwyn Deacon as their candidate. Watch this space!

Cant-wyn loses out to Resurgent Labour

The BNP lost the Camp Hill by election by a resounding 192 votes to the Labour Party tonight. The by election was called following the resignation of the BNP councillor.

The BNP chose their West Midlands Organiser, Alwyn Deacon to fight the seat. This was his first by election as a paid BNP official and the result hs no doubt dis-pleased his new employers. This is the fourth time that Deacon has been rejected by the voters in Nuneaton and Bedworth, clearly a case of the wrong man in the wrong place, time, after time, after time, after time! Alwyn clearly Cantwyn for the BNP. Long may it continue.

The result:

Labour:           670
BNP:               478
Conservative:   275

Camp Hill by election nears its conclusion

Residents of Camp Hill are casting their votes in the Camp Hill by election today. First indications are that there will be a good turnout helped by the unusually fine weather we have enjoyed today.
The BNP have put a huge effort into retaining this seat, bringing party workers in from across the country. They have also been touring Camp Hill again today with their Lie Lorry, inflicting Slade's "Merry Christmas" on Camp Hill residents - whether they wanted to hear it or not. One wonders if Noddy Holder et al would agree with one of their best known and loved songs being used by the BNP.

The Lie Lorry didn't seem to go down well with residents, nor did their latest leaflets claiming they have represented the people of Camp Hill. "How can they say that", said one resident, "when the local councillor didn't speak at meetings when he went and then just stopped going. What use was that to me?"

BNP slur Labour councillor

The BNP have slurred the good name of Labour councillor Dennis Harvey in their eve of poll letter to Camp Hill residents . The letter from BNP candidate Alwyn Deacon states that councillor Harvey "has the same attendance record as my colleague who had to resign".

This is a clear fiction as Councillor Harvey, who has served the residents of the Borough for 35 years, has missed just two full council meetings in all that time - one less than the Camp Hill BNP councillor between May this year and October when he resigned. So, the BNP councillor missed three meetings of the full council in less than six months. Councillor Harvey has averaged missing a full council meeting once every seventeen and a half years.

I do hope the BNP never get to set the budget for the borough if they get this basic maths wrong!

The picture was taken earlier this year after a drinking session in Elliots - the bar Deacon no longer runs, him now being the BNP West midlands Organiser. Oh dear, not very politically astute that one!

Anti Fascist campaigners out in force

Twenty five anti fascist campaigners were out in Camp hill on Sunday morning - and delivered over 3,000 leaflets showing the company that BNP candidate Alwyn Deacon keeps. A photograph of hard line fascists giving the nazi "seig heil" salaute outside his pub in the town centre is a clear indication of his politics. Camp Hill voters will, no doubt, see him off in the by election being held in Camp Hill on Thursday 10th December. Voters are urged to get out and vote and send him the same mesage as they have done across the borough whenever and wherever he has stood.

Anti fascists out in force on Rememberance Sunday

Anti facist campaigners from Hope not hate were out on Remeberance Day distributing leaflets giving the truth behind the BNP. During the leafletting we noticed a quantity of litter down one of the streets. Imagine our surprise to find a load of BNP leaflets dumped in the street. One can only wonder if even BNP activists can't be bothered to deliver their own propaganda but instead dumped it. The pictures don't lie!

BNP move their midlands office to Nuneaton

Searchlight have revealed that the BNP have moved their Midlands office to the Attleborough Fields industrial estate. This office, which has been set up with 20 phone lines to act as a call centre for the BNP, is rented from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

The office will also be be used to sell items from their Excaliber fund raising arm and to cold call BNP members to raise money for this cash strapped party.

Don't be fooled by the signs on the door - there is nothing educational about the BNP!
